Is it too glib to say that everyone
will put on the heavenly robes,
or too cynical to say
that there are some who certainly will not?
All are invited, ready or not.
If home is a place that when you go there
they have to take you in, then
the Church is a place
that when you are needing more,
you are always welcomed;
not because you are perfect
but because you are a child of God.
“Jesus spoke to them again in parables: ‘The kingdom of Heaven is like this. There was a king who arranged a banquet for his son’s wedding; but when he sent his servants to summon the guests he had invited, they refused to come.
... For many are invited, but few are chosen.’ (Matthew 22:1-2,14)
