It’s not
about the clothes we wear;
(so casual, expensive doesn’t need to be mentioned.)
Nor about the cars we drive.
We could willingly
sacrifice
so much more.
It is rather the gap
between what we say
is right and what we do
to make it so that separates us
one from another,
and another, and another....
and the best of ourselves, too.
‘Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, ‘The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat; they do all their deeds to be seen by others; for they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long. Therefore, do whatever they teach you and follow it; but do not do as they do, for they do not practice what they teach.” Matthew 23:1-2
